Martin & Kt Bruce

A place to refuel, shop and learn

The Discovery Centre is open daily from 9.30am to 4.30pm. Come inside and find:

  • The Lime Kiln Café (last orders taken at 4.15pm) serving a wide variety of hot and cold food and drinks. From a slice of your favourite cake to a summer ploughman’s or winter one-pot warmer.
  • Our shop that stocks a stunning collection of gifts, books, greeting cards, toys and homeware. We endeavour to feature products with strong eco, sustainable and fairtrade credentials too.
  • Our exhibition space that brings to life a wealth of knowledge on the history and wildlife of Rye Harbour Nature Reserve through interactive displays, short films and information panels. We also have a team of volunteer experts who can answer any questions.

Facilities

We are a wheelchair friendly venue, with a step-free, entrance ramp. There are toilet facilities, including two that are wheelchair accessible and one that offers baby changing facilities.

For visitors with limited mobility, we offer mobility scooters that are available when booked in advance. We just ask that you send us an email, 48 hours before your trip to [email protected]

Dogs

We welcome well-behaved dogs, as long as they are kept on a short lead at all times. However, only assistance dogs are allowed in the classroom or any areas being used for a special event.
