Looking closely at flowers
biting stonecrop

I often admire colourful displays of wild flowers or look closely at rare ones, but do I really look closely at common ones? NOT OFTEN.

I have borrowed a rather expensive macro lens which has made me look at parts of flowers and it's wonderful...

Black horehound

Opium poppy

Common mallow

Field bindweed

Red valerian

Viper's bugloss

and lastly a rare one, wall germander.

Do make the effort to look closely, you can use a hand lens or binoculars used the wrong way round or a camera.
